America’s most conservative cities

According to the Bay Area Center for Voting Research in California, through an examination of voting in 237 U.S. cities of more than 100,000 people, Cape Coral is ranked as the 16th most conservative city nationwide and is ranked 2nd in the State of Florida. The City of Hialeah, FL is ranked fourth nationwise and comes in first as the most conservative city in Florida. Clearwater follows the Cape as Florida's third most consertative city. Interestingly, Hialeah has repeatedly reelected a Democrat, Raul Martinez as its Mayor. (Humm, does this suggest that Democrates can be conservatives?)
With such conservative leanings
in Cape Coral one might question how such liberal spenders ever got elected. We even have some council members trying to spend money the city has yet to receive, as was the case with $10K pledged from Waste Management!

If you're implying that Tim Day is a liberal, I have to take offense. Day is a Socialist, he wants government involved in every aspect of our lives!

Add clarity to the goals of civic association by purging many among its membership. Begin with employees on city, fire and police payroll and cease giving awards(plaque program)to those already overly compensated by taxpayers. If your mission is to protect interest of Cape citizenry, then quit pussy-footing around politicians and bureaucrats that continue to pick our pockets at the drop of a hat.

As to the affairs of the Civic Association I suggest that you first become a member and then provide your input to the affairs of Civic.

Your comment to "cease giving awards(plaque program)" is misguided. It was one plague, not a program.

You then accuse Civic if "pussy-footing around politicians and bureaucrats" where have you been? That's the last thing I think Civic could ever be accused of.

Please feel free to call me I would be happy to discuss this further with you.

Ralph LePera, President.
